Jammin’ Jars is a colorful slot from Push Gaming that features a grid structure in place of the usual spinning reels and works with avalanches. During each spin, all symbols fall down the reels, and new ones descend from above to take their place. Consequently, this characteristic allows some interesting features.

Jammin’ Jars Features

The game has a 8 reels, 8 rows grid that houses 64 symbols during every avalanche. The symbol themselves are fruits like plum, apples, strawberries, and oranges. There’s a wild symbol that is central to the game and looks like a jar full of a rainbow-colored jam with a happy face. The game itself does not have paylines or ways to win proper; rather, it has a Win All Ways structure.

Win All Ways

First of all, the game does not have traditional paylines to win. Rather, any position is a winning position given that you manage to land a cluster of 5 or more of the same symbols. Many clusters of different symbols can appear very apart from each other and still land you wins.

Cascading Reels

Also known as avalanche mechanic or collapsing reels. The whole totality of the 64 symbols on the board falls down the reels during each spin, or rather, during each avalanche. Thus, 64 new ones come descending from above and take their place. Whenever you land a winning cluster, that cluster evaporates away, and new symbols fall only into the space they left. Those new ones might make a new cluster and repeated the cascade process again. If not, then you hit the spin button to continue the game, and the whole 64 symbols fall and get replaced again.

Rainbow Feature

Rainbow Feature comes randomly at any time during the base game. A giant rainbow will fly across the reels, covering them up and changing radon symbols into a giant fruit. The newly arrived giant fruits will create a cluster of 6 or more symbols and pay accordingly to the value of the symbol and the quantity. The game always selects the symbols it turns giant based on which is more likely to yield a 6 or more symbols cluster based on their position.

Walking Wild

The game’s wild, a Jar full of a rainbow-colored jam with a cheerful face, has a special trick up its tentatively delicious sleeve. Whenever it becomes part of a winning cluster, it remains on the reels rather than go away with the cascade. It will, however, move to one space adjacent to its initial position, which an evaporating cluster left open. 

Each wild that effectively becomes a walking wild also adds a 1x multiplier to the wins. Said multiplier increases if the wild becomes a part of another combination again in the subsequent avalanche. If a wild, however, is not part of any winning cutler combination, it will not walk and goes away during the next avalanche as normal.

Conclusion

It looks colorful, and it looks fun. However, we cannot shake the feeling that Jammin’ Jars is more of a creative exercise on Push Play’s part. There were simply not enough winnings coming our way to justify an extended investment on this reel. If you like flashy, then this is for you, if you like winnings, however, you might want to pass on this one.
